Do most people have pets?

How much does it cost to take care of animals? What is the difference between domesticated and wild animals?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The number of people that have pets in the US is over 63 percent, which equals more than seven million pet owners. Out of those that have pets, the top three pets that have the highest ownership are number one dogs, number two cats, and reptiles come in at number three.

The cost to care for a pet varies depending on the type of pet, the age, health, and their dietary needs. On average, the annual cost to care for your pet is going to range from $4000 to over $35,000. The lower cost is for pets that will not require any veterinarian care due to illness, poor breeding, or accidents along with other care factors like what kind of animal the pet is. The higher cost can even be higher if the animal needs veterinarian care, such as hip surgery or cancer treatments.

Aside from the fact that most pet animals will not hunt and eat you, there are definite differences between wild and domesticated animals from cats to dogs to pigs. There are brain mass differences in domesticated animals compared to their wild counter parts; as in the domesticated animals’ the brains are lighter.
